A superb Provencal mansion, set in large grounds in a quite rural location, offering exceptional charm, character, space, privacy and all comforts for either a large family group, a group of friends seeking a very special holiday experience or to celebrate a special occasion or for a conference group.
The house is primarily on two levels with the majority of the bedrooms located on the upper level reached by a number of wide stone stairways; the lower level houses the superb kitchen, living and dining areas and a small library.
There are 10 spacious bedrooms, and 9 bathrooms, comprising of 8 twin bedrooms plus 2 huge bedrooms, each with a mezzanine level, and each with 6 single beds. Two of the bedrooms share a bathroom; the other 8 each have an ensuite bathroom. 8 of the 10 bedrooms are in the main house; the other 2, one on the ground floor and the other on an upper level, are in a separate building in close proximity. Two of the 8 bedrooms in the main house, one with an additional mezzanine level with an armchair and a writing desk, are on the 3rd floor. The house is ideally suited for 8 to 10 couples or 8 couples and up to 12 singles; the latter happy to share the 2 very large two level bedrooms.
The layout of the house is such that there is ample scope for those wishing to simply relax and/or read in a quiet nook away from busier areas.
The very well equipped kitchen has commercial appliances and all amenities. To one side of the kitchen is a large area, part glass covered, housing a huge indoor BBQ, a small sitting area and a large informal dining area seating 16 plus. To the other side of the kitchen is the entrance hall, a guest WC, a large formal dining area very comfortably seating 16, a small library and a very spacious “L” shaped sitting room with an open fireplace.
Other amenities include TV, telephone, fax, internet, CD, Hi-fi, air conditioning, heating, washing machine, iron & ironing board.
Just outside the kitchen is a large casual outdoor dining area seating 16 plus. Across from the house, near the separate building housing two of the bedrooms, is a large swimming pool with ample pool side furniture, a large covered area housing a large summer kitchen with a 2nd large indoor BBQ and informal dining for 16 plus. Off the summer kitchen is a games room, change rooms for the pool, a shower and WC.
In the grounds are a magnificent flood lit tennis court, a ping pong table, an area for playing boules/petanque, outdoor furniture and loads of parking. Mountain bikes are available for the more energetic and the caretaker/guardian is available to take guests on escorted hiking trips. Other staff include a cook (6 days per week – excluding Wednesday) and two house maids.
The nearby unspoilt perched village of Simiane-la-Rotonde at 2k has an excellent restaurant, bakery and a small general store. Cafes, small shops and a superb bookshop are in the village of Banon at 6k. Major supermarkets, many other shops & restaurants and all services, plus an excellent Saturday morning market, are to be found in the old market town of Apt at 20k. For golfers there are courses within 45 to 60 minutes drive.
Prices includes daily cleaning, a weekly linen change for bookings of more than one week, meal preparation, setting and clearing of tables (but not serving) and washing up.
